Choosing colors for your braces can be a fun way to express yourself and show your unique style. But how can you keep your braces looking fresh and cool?

Choose Colors That Compliment You!

Choosing colors for your braces begins with considering what colors compliment you most.Consider what compliments your skin tone, and teeth color.
For darker warmer skin tones, choose jewel tones. For lighter skin tones, choose lighter colors such as pastels. Choose colors that have blue foundations, cooler tones that will make your teeth look brighter and whiter.

Choose Colors that Compliment Your Life

Choosing colors, such as school colors, or colors for each holiday, such as bright green and red or blue and white during the Holiday season, or red and blue during the summer, green and pink during spring, or any other combination you can think of to compliment a Holiday or other seasonal event.

Don’t Choose These!

It can be just as crucial in choosing colors for your braces to consider what colors to avoid.
Avoid colors with yellow overtones, which may make your teeth look more yellow. You may want to avoid clear and white which may easily discolor, or make your teeth look more yellow as well. Colors like black or olive green with yellow undertones may look like cavities or rotting food against your teeth. Avoiding these colors may help your teeth look their best.

Keep Your Braces Clean and Fresh

Another way to keep your braces looking their best is being diligent about your oral hygiene. Ask your orthodontist how to do your best to keep your braces clean, and what kind of tools will suit your needs best. This will go a long way to making your braces as beautiful as possible. Choosing colors for your braces can help you look your best, and those colors will look their best if they’re kept clean and fresh as well!
